Romantic Gestures

My husband is a delightfully stable guy. I love him for this. He is not so talented in the spontaneous romantic gestures department, which he will readily admit. He does quite well on birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine's Day, but he does not typically surprise me with gifts or sweet gestures unexpectedly. I have dropped subtle hints in the past: "Someday I wish you would buy me flowers for no reason at all." But despite my subtlety, he did not seem to catch on. That is why I was shocked to get these at work, long after giving up on romantic gestures:

At first I thought I forgot some major occasion (see the previous post about my poor memory) but when I looked at the card it just said, "I haven't bought you flowers in a while. I thought you would enjoy these." I do. A lot.

I joked to my coworker that he must have had some kind of coupon or discount. Then I called Matt to thank him and found out - his credit card offered double rewards points by purchasing them online. HAHA! I love that I know him so well. And you know what? I don't care what prompted him to buy the flowers, the point is that he bought them.
